Pastor’s meeting was held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 6 p.m. at FBC, Lathrop with twenty-three people representing fifteen churches. After discussion of the dissolution of the interim director of missions’ position, those present discussed the purposes of the HBA. Each pastor was asked to email in order of importance the purposes of the association to Aaron Manning, the moderator.

ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM MEETING
The Administrative Team met on Monday, November 30 and discussed the followed items:
Voted to that the January
Executive Board meeting be held on Saturday, January 16 at FBC, Henrietta
(6th & Main, Henrietta,
Missouri 64036) at 9 a.m. for breakfast followed by our
meeting. Who may attend the Executive Board? “The Executive
Board of the Heartland Baptist Association, Inc. shall be composed of two
(2) elected members from each affiliated church. In addition to
these, the Director of Missions, Administrative Team, pastors of the
churches, paid ministerial staff, and the Ministry Assistant of the
Association are ex-officio members with voting privileges” (Article
VIII—The Executive Board, Section 2).
2.The purposes of the association that pastors emailed with the top seven responses: missions (25), information (17), camp (16), pastoral support (10), training (10), evangelism (8), fellowship (7), pulpit supply (7) and DR (5). The Administrative Team believes that improving communication is a priority as we move into the new year and trying to clarify the duties of the director of missions, the search to fill this position, and the ways that HBA churches and pastors can cooperate together to accomplish Kingdom work.
3.Voted to recommend to the Executive Board in January a written agreement between the Heartland Baptist Association and the Lawson Food Pantry from January 16 until May 31, 2021. Note: the Food Pantry has had a verbal agreement to use space in the Mission Center since June 1, 2020.
4.Referred the matter of the Pulpit Supply List to Michael Gilliam, Training Coordinator, to come up with consistent questions that each person will be asked before their name is added to the Pulpit Supply List.Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary also has a form that a church/pastor can submit to request someone to fill the pulpit (Click here to open the Word Document Request form) or contact Kristiana Yang at MBTS at 816.414.3721.
5.Approved an expenditure of $180 for Thru the Roof Ministries to migrate existing website to Word Press so that our Ministry Assistant can update our website without sending changes to the webhost.The $180 is for one year January 1 – December 31, 2021 ($40 per domain name + $65 webhosting + one time fee of $75 to setup).Each church will be offered a free web page (like a business card with contact information and upcoming activities updated by association) or churches can have their own website for $160 for first year then $85 each year after that they will maintain and update.
6.Voted to recommend to the Executive Board in January that HBA use TextCaster Notification for one year at a cost of $500 annually (includes 1000 subscribers).TextCaster is a Text and or email Notification service that we believe will enhance communication within churches and within our association.Each church can either sign up their members or have their members sign up on their own to receive free texts from their own church through TextCaster.Each church will send out their own text notifications to their members who have subscribed to TextCaster.
7.Discussed encouraging pastors and church leaders to use the Dropbox folder called HBA Churches that contains .pdf’s of information that can be accessed such as an Updated Church List with contact information, Final Report from Revisioning Team, MBTS Pulpit Supply Request Form and HBA Pulpit Supply List (currently being updated). December 24, 2020 – January 3, 2021
The associational office will be closed on December 24 and the week of December 28-31.The office will reopen on Monday, January 4, 2021.
